In a few day’s I’ll be done with General Assembly’s DSI immersive. For the last 12 weeks, I’ve balanced my family & this career pivot, in the midst of this covid-19 pandemic. Now onto job hunting. But I’m not nervous. I’m very clear on my mission & this job hunt is about finding a company that not only respects my humanity but it’s mission aligns with mine. I’m looking forward to putting my enhanced skillset to help *holistically* address & eradicate health disparities in collaboration with members of under-resourced communities. I’m also excited to continue working & refining my data science practice with seasoned data professionals.
Overall, I’m anticipating a continued learning curve over the next year. To help mitigate the stress, my goal is to practice on topics of interest and/or volunteer at a data science non-profit organizations like DataKind, Statistics Without Borders. I’ve also been enjoying data focused podcasts like Towards Data Science, Learning Bayesian Statistics & Storytelling with Data. This technical upskilling journey hasn’t been easy but I know I made the right choice because & I’m so eager to learn more.
